I am a qualified SENDCO, Special Educational Needs Consultant and Teacher with over 25 years experience in SEND education. My expertise is two-fold: helping SEND children to achieve their potential and supporting parents to successfully navigate the complex world of SEND education.
ABOUT
My journey began over 25 years ago as a Special Needs teacher. I have extensive experience working with children in both primary and secondary schools with a broad range of learning difficulties and neurodiverse profiles. These include dyslexia, ADHD, autism, dyspraxia and severe hearing impairment.

I have been a SENDCO for over 20 years and have established and run highly successful Learning Support departments in a number of schools in North West London.

I have been Head of Learning Support at an Independent Secondary School for 17 years. Whilst my years as a specialist teacher and SENDCO taught me how to help children, it was not until I became a parent to a child with complex needs, that I fully understood what it takes to successfully manage a SEN child through the education system. I am a single mum to an amazingly funny, cheeky, intelligent child who has ADHD, autism and dyslexia. I know all too well how lonely, frightening, overwhelming and exhausting the process can be.
The EHCP process is daunting. I have a wealth of experience of the process both professionally and personally. As a parent, I have successfully fought for an EHCP for my son and succeeded in getting him an outstanding level of support and educational setting without having to go to tribunal.
Professionally, I have extensive experience in working closely with parents to successfully obtain EHCPs for their children, appeal EHC applications (if necessary) and regularly manage the implementation of EHCPs in school.

My mission is that children with additional and complex needs are given the correct support within the correct educational setting to meet their individual needs and allow them to succeed, thrive and believe in themselves.

TESTIMONIALS
Lucy, mum to KS1 child
"Lisa was truly amazing when I needed help appealing the Council's refusal to assess my daughter for an EHCP. I got in touch with her about 2 days before the deadline and she pulled out all the stops, working with me to produce a thorough, professional and ultimately successful appeal. It was so detailed and written beautifully. Her in-depth knowledge, fantastic expertise and endless patience, and hard work was invaluable to me at that time, and her support and encouragement was incredible. I am really very grateful, thank you!"
Nadia, mum to KS1 child
"Lisa has been such a help as we have looked to navigate getting support for our son. She is very kind and compassionate, caring so much and sharing her own experiences and feelings. Lisa's insights and guidance have made a massive difference with how we have sought to get support in school and out of school for our son. Lisa, you have given me a plan and guidance at a time when I genuinely didn't know who to ask for help. Thank you so, so much!"
Grace, 17 year old student
"Lisa really helped me to feel organised at school and has given me helpful tools which I used in my GCSE revision, and am now using in my A-levels. Her support made a real difference to making me feel calmer and more confident about my work."
Marianne, mum to KS2 child
"Lisa was extremely helpful in supporting me through the EHCP process for my son. She gave me a lot of practical tips, as well as emotional support which I found invaluable. Because she has been through the process herself, she gave me some really useful advice with how to manage the various meetings with professionals, that I had to attend. I was thrilled when my son's EHCP came through and genuinely feel that Lisa's guidance helped me succeed."
